Imajin Manufacturing Hub, a manufacturing marketplace in Indonesia, participated in the Indonesia-Japan The 2nd Autoparts Business Forum organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Nagoya, Japan on October 27, 2023.
This activity is part of a series of celebrations of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Japan that have reached the age of 65 and supported by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Nagoya, Japan which aims to bridge small and medium-scale automotive component companies in Indonesia with large production companies in Japan. Indonesian supply chain companies are expected to become an important part of the global automotive industry supply chain.
Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan Heri Akhmadi explained that the forum was aimed at encouraging the realization of concrete cooperation between the two countries and increasing Japanese investment in the automotive parts sector.
"Both countries have the potential for automotive parts cooperation that needs to be encouraged with Japan. The value of Indonesia's automotive industry is predicted to reach more than 25 billion USD in 2025,"
said Ambassador Heri who was accompanied by the Coordinator of the Economic Function of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo Sunan J. Rustam and Industry Attaché Sofyari Rahman.
At least 150 people attended this hybrid business forum event. One of them is Imajin an Indonesian manufacturing industry platform company that provides various services such as 3D project services, mold & dies, part fabrication, and CNC machine rental. Imajin transforms the manufacturing ecosystem in Indonesia by facilitating an online platform, allowing manufacturing industry players to conduct project match-making and monitor project progress in real time.
Currently, more than 600 manufacturing partners in various automotive tiers have joined Imajin. This opens the way and opportunity for Imajin partners to be able to work together between Indonesia and Japan in getting potential projects for both parties. The number of medium and large-scale manufacturing industry companies in 2023 in Indonesia is 32,193 businesses or companies (Central Bureau of Statistics 2023).
